I have this weekend will resume his(Heng Swee Keat)duties as Minister for Finance. DPM (Deputy Prime Minister)Tharman Shanmugaratnam will stop covering as Acting Minister. Heng Swee Keat will focus on next year’s Budget and CFE(Committee on the Future Economy). I intend to appoint a second minister to help Swee get out with operational responsibilities for MOF(Ministry Of Finance), and I decide to appoint Lawrence Wong. Nothing that has happened has changed my timetable, or my resolve to press on with succession. And soon after the next GE(general election), my successor must be ready to take over from me.
